Welcome from the Executive Headteacher

Welcome to The Russett School

The Russett School is working in partnership with The Russett Learning Trust to provide outstanding education for all.

We are a highly successful 2 – 19 Special School, obtaining an Ofsted Outstanding in July 2014. Our ongoing success is due to the continued outstanding contribution from our talented and highly dedicated support staff and teachers. This is enhanced by the extensive support and commitment from our parents and carers.

Our aim to ensure that all our pupils/students are given a broad and balanced education which prepares them for their journey through life. We recognise that adopting a personalised approach is critical to each pupil/students development.

Great importance is placed on supporting learning by using a wide range of strategies including language, communication and sensory integration which are key to developing personal independence.

We have continued to develop our Community, Outreach and Training service (COaTS) to support mainstream preschools, nurseries and primary school in supporting children with additional needs. We work closely with parents/carers and other professionals to deliver training and professional development.

Any parents/carers with further questions, or who would like to visit, are warmly encouraged to contact us.

This website aims to give you a ‘flavour’ of our school, as well as providing regular updated information for the whole school community and the wider audience.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find it informative and helpful.
