Author: Helen Roberts Date: 09 Sep 2011 Welcome Back!Everyone returned to school after the summer break to find there had been some great changes to our school environment. Senior pupils are celebrating their brand new play area. Gone are the old cycle track and patch of grass and in its place is a brand new basket ball/netball court with a special surface for playing on. Today, the pupils were very keen to show off the skills that they had learned from the Cheshire Jets Basketball team last year! The improvements were funded by the Russett School PTA. The main hall has been completely refurbished with a new floor, new external doors and a new colour scheme. All the chairs have been replaced and they are now more child friendly. Everyone likes the new blue and white colour scheme too. The pupils in the MSI unit have yet to test out their new outdoor area because of the inclement weather, but they are looking forward to trying out the improvements to their sensory and tactile play area which include a sensory ball, drums and sandpits. We also have a high tech mobile interactive whiteboard for the hall which has already been put to good use during the staff training sessions earlier this week. Further improvements are scheduled to take place during the next half term which will include a new sounds system for the hall which will be finished in time for our fabulous Annual Christmas Pantomime.
