Coronavirus Update for Parents

26th June 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

Re: Coronavirus update

I write to update you further to my letter of the 19th June 2020.

At the request of the Local Authority, we have been asked to complete a Reasonable Endeavour Plan for each pupil. These are being sent out to parents this week. If you have any comments to make please let us know by the date stated in your email, after which we will forward them to the Local Authority.

For those parents of children who receive free school meals, the next vouchers will be sent out at the start of next week. You will also receive a voucher at the end of term for £90 to cover the 6 week summer holiday period.

Next week we are opening up another class room. We are also planning for September and putting measures in place following the change in the guidance that every pupil will return full time in September. Obviously, the situation could change and I will of course keep you updated.

Please see the link below which is for printable cards that people can carry where they are unable to wear a face mask on public transport due to their disability.

A reminder that all children and members of their households in England have access to testing if they display symptoms of coronavirus, including children under 5. A positive test will ensure rapid action to protect other children and staff in their setting. Tests can be accessed through the NHS website.

The academies risk assessments are available on the website.

For those pupils who are not returning yet, they will continue to receive work through Evisense and/or by post. If you are having difficulties with Evisense or require more work to be sent home, please do not hesitate to contact the academy.

We will continue to make calls to those parents/carers of children who are not in the academy on a weekly basis to see how things are going and that children are accessing the work provided on Evisense, but also at the request of the Local Authorities. Please be assured that we will continue to phone until we get an answer and/or please return the call by phoning the academy on 01606 853005.

The academies Designated Safeguarding Leads are also available every day and the academy office is manned daily during the week.
