Geo-caching with Room 7
The group have a huge interest in outdoor learning and breaking away from traditional classroom learning styles. They have found geo-caching interesting and useful throughout all areas of the curriculum. This term the group have been looking at directions, position and movement. They have used compasses as well as the cache’s for this. Unsurprisingly the pupils preferred the cache’s. Not only can the machines be programmed and used to find the hidden treasures in their community or wider world, but the pupils have great fun in hiding and programming their own into the machines too for others to find.
This week the clues led to finding letters of the alphabet and making a word out of the letters, each group succeeded – well done!
